Step by step tutorial
To get started, you can download the pattern, enlarge it and print it, in the correct size for the embroidery you want to do.
Next, trace the pattern onto the fabric. Look here how to draw a pattern on fabric. Stretch over the hoop, making sure the pattern is centered.
Use two strands of embroidery floss as follows:
- Large Pink Flower - French knot center, satin stitch petals, with a few extra dots in deeper red across the petals to add depth
- Blue flowers: satin stitch
- Blue buds: French knots
- Apricot flowers - satin point, with a lighter color for the center of the flower
- Yellow buds - satin point
- Red Buds - French Knots
- Pink drooping flowers - long and short stitch
- Stems along - back stitch
- Leaves - herringbone point
If you are not familiar with any of the above stitches or want to refresh yourself, you can find great tutorials on these stitches at embroiderysamano.net.
