Learn to embroider small flowers
Floral motifs are a classic motif in embroidery, and it's so much fun to embroider pretty little flowers to create your projects. The next three types of flowers are tiny, which makes them very sweet. The entire pool above created by "The Spruce / Mollie Johanson" measures less than 1 inch at its widest point.
Small flowers can be added to complete others floral embroidery patterns, but they're also great for adding to covered buttons, shirt cuffs and collars, and for creating small sewn-on jewelry projects. Or, you can sew your own miniature embroidered garden.
The materials you will need
- embroidery hoop
- embroidery needles
- embroidery thread of various colors
- Sewing fabric, white cotton, other woven fabric, or plain white handkerchief

How to make a tiny daffodil
make the center
Choose two colors for your daffodil.
start with a french knot.
Create a loose French knot in the center of what will be the flower using the darker color.
To achieve a slightly loose knot, do not hold the working thread too tightly around the needle as you pull it through.
sew a petal
Then, form petals with three straight points.
The first straight stitch is the longest one that is in the middle of the petal.
Add two shorter points to either side of the center point to form a triangle.
create more petals
Add a total of five or six petals to finish your daffodil.

Sew the lower petals
Pick one or two colors for this flower style.
Start by making the bottom petals.
Next, make two or three separate chain stitches to make the bottom petals.
Sew the top petals
To start the top petals, work your needle back up from the center of the bottom three petals.
Make a chain stitch on the far left.
Instead of doing the stitch that digs into the top of the petal, bring the needle back down through the middle of the bottom three petals and back up next to the partial chain stitch while holding the thread under the needle. By doing this, you have changed to a blanket stitch, which you will work to form the top fan of petals.
¡Good job!
