How to embroider small triangles very easy

It is very easy to embroider small triangles in a mandala. Triangles are perfect geometric figures that we can incorporate into our hand embroidery creations. In the images that we can see right away, which are a fantastic creation by Maria Tenorio de Gynecium, we have a very easy way to embroider the triangles with a simple straight stitch, which is the most basic of all the embroidery stitches.

The principle of this stitch is very simple: to embroider the straight stitch, we remove the needle at a certain point and lower it again at another point to form a straight thread line between the two.

The straight stitch is used to embroider these beautiful triangles in the yellow and magenta colors of the mandala-sun-flower. These triangles are used to embroider the rays of the sun or flower petals.

Step by step tutorial

"1 - Draw a triangle or a series of triangles on your embroidery. Make sure they are not so big. The ones you see here are isosceles triangles because they have two equal sides and they measure approximately 1.3 cm.
2 - Start by embroidering a straight stitch from the base to the vertex.

3 - Give a straight stitch on the other side, always from the base towards the vertex.

4 - Always continue from the base towards the inside of the triangle. Your next stitch will start at the base (left side) and sit just below the vertex.

5 - The next straight stitch goes from the base (right side) until colliding with the previous stitch, under the vertex.

6 - Continue like this, filling in the triangle. Remember that all stitches start at the base and sit just below the corner just worked.

7 - The sixth straight stitch is always born at the base, next to the previous stitch and settles under the vertex.

8 - These triangles have been filled in with 10 or 12 straight stitches.

The secret to obtaining good results is to maintain the order of the stitches: they all start at the base (that is, on the side that we define as the base) and join under the vertex. You can draw a straight line to serve as a guide inside the triangle, if you see fit."
